Colonial Williamsburg, Planned: Curated Day-by-Day Itineraries for Every Traveler

Colonial Williamsburg, Planned: Curated Day-by-Day Itineraries for Every Traveler

May 22, 2026

No one wants to stress about FOMO.

I hear it constantly from visitors to this area: there's so much, it's overwhelming, how do we know what programs our kids will like, etc. etc. fear of missing out a.k.a. FOMO is real.

And then there's the bit about how much time to spend in Colonial Williamsburg (CW) when there's also Jamestown and Yorktown. Then the sheer terror when someone here for the first time realizes there are two Yorktown and two Jamestown options.

And the tickets... annual pass? Multi-day? Historic Triangle? And what about if you are obsessed with visiting places like the church Patrick Henry gave his "Liberty or Death" speech at, want to explore 18th (or even 17th!) century architecture?

And. Or.

It can take some serious planning and research.

As a history blogger, I've discovered some amazing places. As a supporter, local, and constant visitor to CW, I've gotten pretty solid at the "lay of the land." Everything from parking to programming. Grab-and-go meals. Where the portraits hang. The Liberty Lounge for our military family.

A curated itinerary is the solution you may not know you needed.

What is a curated itinerary?

Your visit is more than the time you spend in Colonial Williamsburg. It's about where you stay, what you see on the way, and all of the opportunities not listed on the schedule and all around us.

My curated itinerary is truly custom.

Contents include:

  • your CW experience organized
  • parking and travel detail
  • ticket information
  • personalized daily schedule
  • day trips/overnight excursions outside CW
  • shopping/dining based on your interests and where you'll be staying
  • we can also include a customized walking tour!

Cost: $99-299

Why are they valuable?

Save time. I'm doing the research for you. Once I know your interests, as well as "how" you vacation, your itinerary will be tailored and organized. We all vacation differently: are you a morning person? Do you want to log a lot of steps? Is food "fuel" or an experience?

Eliminate the stress. See last paragraph! And know that if you want options, you'll have them. If you want a tight no-decision schedule, you'll get it.

Save money. From the best ticket options, to free resources, sites, and events I'll have your budget in mind. I can help you focus where and when you splurge (in case you want to!).

Hidden gems not on your radar. If I know you're into art, music, architecture, sites where our shared history comes alive, or even specific people like Martha Dandridge Custis Washington, Patrick Henry, or John Marshall- I'll get you pointed in the right direction for sites you may not have considered visiting.

4 steps to getting your curated itinerary.

Short and sweet, I'm ending with 4 simple steps to get going before truly ending the article with my always-there 'closing words from history.'

  1. Book a call with me (click here).
  2. I'll pull details from our chat to create an itinerary tailored to your needs and interests (based on your travel dates and budget).
  3. You'll receive a digital copy (with links!) as well as a printed version.
  4. Oh --- and the payment will be an invoice or Venmo!

No FOMO.

Closing words from history.

You may know Richard Henry Lee introduced the resolution for Independence, passed two days prior to the Declaration of Independence adopted July 4, 1776.

Active in Virginia government (before and after American Independence), Richard Henry Lee often visited Williamsburg, and his ancestral family home was Stratford Hall. Stratford Hall is in the Northern Neck and many letters of the Lee family can be seen IN PERSON with an appointment.

One example of the things- and places- I can help you explore!

This excerpt insinuates Jefferson may have let Lee know that the Capitol would be moving in the year this was written, 1780. To read the letter in full online, click here.

Dear Sir,

I am much obliged to you for your favor of January the 2d. with its enclosures which came to hand two days ago, kept back I suppose by the post. The Bearer who is Under Sherif of our county, will receive and bring me the Registers you are pleased to mention. A variety of preventions have concurred to delay my trip to Williamsburg, but I yet hope to have the pleasure of seeing you when the gout and weather will permit. I thank you Sir for your hint concerning Richmond, it will confirm a preconceived design I had of writing in time to secure lodging, as I do intend to go into the next Assembly.
